Deion Sanders is set to begin his third season as the head coach at Colorado, but says there's one thing he's really had to get used to at home games.

Sanders recently sat down with Romi Bean ahead of the Colorado Buffaloes home opener against Georgia Tech, with Colorado's Folsom Field as the interview backdrop.

Bean asks, "Is there anything about Folsom, about this stadium that surprised you, that you didn't expect?"

Sanders, without missing a beat, replies, "Yea, the smell of weed in the second quarter surprised the heck outta me, like every game I’m like ‘dang.’ It seems like it’s like a light up quarter. Like, is this the quarter that y’all chose, like I’m serious it’s the TV timeout and it never fails. I’m like, wow. Because you know I’ve never been out there in my life so that’s kind of new to me.."

Bean jokes, "That’s a Boulder essential I guess." Sanders then follows up with a, "Truly."

It's been an offseason of headlines for Sanders and his family. First, the coach revealed he had privately been battling bladder cancer, undergoing a treatment to have his bladder removed. He's now cancer free and thanks his kids for being by his side through the process.

Speaking of his kids—Sander's son Shiloh was recently cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after getting into it with Buffalo Bills player Zach Davidson. Sanders threw a punch during the scuffle, striking Davidson in the head. He was immediately ejected from the game and waived by the team the next day.

Shedeur Sanders has also generated a lot of media buzz as he fights for a quarterback spot with the Cleveland Browns after the team selected him in the fifth round of the NFL Draft. He's currently third on Cleveland's QB depth chart.

Sanders previously played for his dad at Colorado.
