One of WWE’s longest-running recent mysteries officially came to an end on the December 15 episode of WWE Raw, when the masked man who had been disrupting matches and altering championship paths finally revealed himself.
Per Sports Illustrated, after weeks of speculation, Austin Theory stepped into the light as the figure who interfered during the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series.
The mystery began at Survivor Series last month, when a man dressed head-to-toe in black climbed the WarGames cage during the chaotic main event. The intruder stormed into the double-ring structure and delivered a surprise stomp to CM Punk before disappearing just as quickly as he arrived.
Moments later, Punk was flattened by Bron Breakker’s spear and pinned.
Following the premium live event, the masked figure continued making appearances on Raw, repeatedly assisting The Vision and keeping fans guessing about his identity.
WWE leaned into the uncertainty, with theories ranging from Seth Rollins—due to the assailant’s borrowed offense—to names like Montez Ford, and even a rumored return by Chris Jericho.
Outside the ring, speculation grew louder when Jake Paul weighed in during an interview with Bleacher Report. With his brother Logan Paul closely aligned with The Vision, Paul teased involvement but stopped short of confirming it.
“I can’t say too much, but, just know, something big’s coming,” he said, later adding that he would be open to managing Logan in WWE. “I think it’s absolutely insane what he’s doing and I would love to help him.”
After once again interfering—this time helping Logan defeat Rey Mysterio—the masked man removed his disguise to reveal Theory. The unmasking coincided with another attack on Punk, as Breakker delivered yet another spear.
The reveal capped off a packed Raw episode that also featured Gunther celebrating his victory over John Cena by calling the wrestling icon a “little b***h,” Maxxine Dupri successfully defending the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Ivy Nile, and Nikki Bella launching a surprise attack that disrupted the Women’s World Championship scene.
