Seth Rollins has spent much of the past year at the center of WWE storylines, but right now, the focus isn’t on titles or betrayals—it’s on recovery.

The World Heavyweight Champion, sidelined by a serious shoulder injury, is finally offering clarity on where things stand and whether fans should expect to see him at WrestleMania 42.

The injury occurred earlier this year at Crown Jewel 2025 following Rollins’ high-profile match with Cody Rhodes. While some fans initially questioned the severity—especially given Rollins’ history of playing mind games, including faking knee issues in the past—the damage turned out to be legitimate.

Rollins ultimately underwent surgery, confirming that the setback was real and would keep him out of action for months.

That timeline has raised questions about his availability for WrestleMania 42, scheduled for April 18–19, 2026, in Las Vegas. Speaking recently on Something’s Burning with Bert Kreischer, Rollins offered his most candid update to date.

“There’s nothing good about being hurt,” Seth Rollins said. “I’m trying to find the silver linings… I get to spend more time with my daughter, which is great—more time at home.”

For now, Rollins is still wearing a sling, which he expects to ditch in about a month. From there, the plan isn’t an immediate return to the ring but a slow ramp-up. “Once I get this sling off… it might be full vacation mode for a little while before I lock in and have to start training,” he explained.

As for when that “lock-in” moment happens, Rollins acknowledged that the schedule is still fluid. “I’m hoping around February, after all the holiday stuff, I can start to be like, ‘No more BS,’” he said, adding that a realistic return could land anywhere near the six-month mark. “They say six months, so this could be April.”

That puts WrestleMania 42 firmly in the gray area—not guaranteed, but not off the table either.

While he remains absent from WWE television, Seth Rollins hasn’t disappeared completely. He’s stayed visible through NFL media appearances and is set to be part of Netflix’s NFL Christmas coverage.
