An arrest warrant has been issued for former NFL tight end Vernon Davis following allegations of assault involving a pregnant woman with whom he previously had a relationship.

According to a criminal complaint first reported by TMZ Sports, the alleged incident occurred on May 31, 2024, inside Davis’ home.

The woman told authorities that the two were arguing about her pregnancy when the situation escalated. She claimed Davis began throwing magazines and books at her from beneath a television during the dispute.

In her statement, the woman alleged that the confrontation only stopped after she took out her phone and began recording. She also claimed Davis later offered her $10,000, though the context of that offer was not made clear in the complaint.

The situation allegedly intensified days later. The woman told investigators that Davis slapped her across the face after she accused him of lying and questioned his behavior.

According to the report, she warned him she would not tolerate being treated that way.

She later recorded another conversation in which Davis denied hitting her, allegedly saying, “If I really slapped you, your face would be blue/black.”

TMZ Sports did not obtain details on whether either party was advocating for or against terminating the pregnancy.

Court records show that a warrant for Davis’ arrest was issued on January 8, 2025, the same day the assault and battery complaint was formally filed. He is scheduled to appear in court in February.

The woman also claimed that this was not an isolated incident. She alleged there was a pattern of domestic violence throughout their relationship and said she had suffered visible bruises during previous altercations.

In addition, the report states there is a separate, open case involving allegations of strangulation and assault stemming from an argument that allegedly took place days before the May 31 incident—before she learned she was pregnant.

A source close to Davis told TMZ Sports that the former football star is “taking the allegations seriously.” An attorney for Davis did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Davis played in the NFL for San Francisco, Denver, and Washington, and was part of the Denver Broncos team that won Super Bowl 50. He officially retired from professional football in 2020.
