The latest legal battle involving Tyreek Hill came to an abrupt end on Friday, May 8, after the former Miami Dolphins star reached a surprise settlement with influencer Sophie Hall during the middle of a civil trial in Florida.
According to The New York Post, the case had only just begun to unfold in court earlier that week, before the agreement was announced. Hall accused Hill of causing a severe leg injury during what she described as an aggressive football training session at his Southwest Ranches mansion in June 2023. The settlement amount was not disclosed.
Jurors had already heard opening statements and testimony from Hall before the case was suddenly wrapped up. On his way out of court, Hill reportedly joked, “I’m going to Disney World,” after the settlement was finalized.
Hall sued Hill in February 2024, claiming he used “crushing force” during football drills and fractured her leg after becoming upset during the session. According to testimony presented in court, Hall alleged Hill’s mood shifted after she managed to knock him backward during one of the drills in front of witnesses at the house.
Her legal team argued the injury happened during a later drill when Hill charged into her, ultimately leaving her with a fractured tibial plateau that required surgery and extensive rehabilitation. Hill’s attorneys pushed back hard against those claims, arguing that Hall either tripped over Hill’s dog, Chapo, or was injured while voluntarily participating in a contact-style football exercise.
The defense also highlighted the relationship between the two before and after the injury. Hall, who has more than 2 million Instagram followers, met Hill after enrolling her son in one of his football camps. Court testimony revealed the pair exchanged daily messages that later became flirtatious, eventually leading Hall to visit Hill’s mansion for a multi-day stay.
During depositions previously referenced in court filings, Hall acknowledged she remained at Hill’s home after the injury and continued an intimate relationship with him during that time. She also appeared to soften aspects of her earlier claims, later stating, “I said I got injured while playing,” as she described the incident.
He also remains embroiled in a separate divorce and custody battle with his estranged wife, Keeta Vaccaro.
Hill has denied those allegations through his attorneys.
