A new round of attention is hitting 1587 Prime, the steakhouse backed by Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, after a TikTok review describing the restaurant as “the worst fine dining experience I’ve ever had” spread across social media.
The viral post came from TikTok user Nicole Rose, who detailed a frustrating night at the upscale restaurant. According to Rose, her table waited 45 minutes for cocktails after being seated, only for one of the drinks to arrive incorrectly.
“It took us 45 minutes to get our martinis,” Rose said in the video. “This was a $33 martini that arrived 45 minutes after we sat down.”
Rose said the issues continued throughout the meal. A $25 fried chicken appetizer arrived before the drinks and “was not good,” while steak sauces ordered for the entrées reportedly never arrived until nearly the end of the meal.
“We had $15 steak sauces ordered. They did not come. They forgot them,” she said. “By the time the sauces came, my friend was completely done with her steak for the most part. My $100 steak was incorrectly cooked.”
The customer also criticized the service, saying her group struggled to get their server’s attention during dinner. “You couldn’t find her to save your life,” Rose said, before adding that “the fastest thing our server did was collect the bill. The $650 bill.”
The video has been viewed more than 590,000 times, with thousands of comments piling on about the restaurant’s prices and service. One commenter questioned the cost of the drinks, writing, “A $33 martini IN MISSOURI?!?” Another wrote, “There’s no steak worth paying $100.”
Rose said her group originally planned to stay longer and order “The Alchemy,” a cocktail inspired by Kelce’s fiancée, Taylor Swift. Instead, they decided to leave. “The service and everything, we were just so frustrated we wanted to get out of there,” she said.
The backlash arrives at a difficult moment for 1587 Prime, which has already been facing legal trouble. Earlier this year, a judge declined to shut down the restaurant amid an ongoing lawsuit involving the property and its operations.
1587 Prime was launched as a joint business venture between Kelce and Mahomes, two of the biggest stars in Kansas City sports. The restaurant’s name references their jersey numbers—15 and 87—and was marketed as a high-end dining destination tied to both players’ brands.
