LeBron James has spent more than two decades hearing every possible form of trash talk, but the latest bit of fan sniping elicited a hilarious reaction from the NBA great.
According to People, during the Lakers’ 112–108 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on December 7, a courtside heckler tried him with the oldest joke in the book, yelling, “You still ain’t got no hair though,” as an opponent lined up for a free throw.
James heard it loud and clear. Instead of barking back, the 40-year-old star laughed, shrugged, and turned toward nearby fans with a calm acknowledgment.
“It happens,” he said, brushing off the comment about his hairline like background noise. Then he delivered the quiet knockout. “You know what I do got though,” James added, pausing deliberately. “And plenty of it.”
The exchange, captured on video and widely shared online, immediately sparked reactions from fans seated near the Lakers bench. James jogged back into the action without missing a beat, never explicitly naming what he was referencing.
The implication, however, was evident. According to Forbes, James officially became a billionaire in 2022 after earning $121.2 million the year before, making him the first active NBA player to reach that milestone. Michael Jordan is the only other basketball player to do so, though Jordan crossed that threshold well after his playing days.
The moment came during a stretch when James had been closing chapters rather than chasing them.
Three days earlier, on December 4 against the Toronto Raptors, James finished with eight points in 36 minutes, ending his astonishing streak of 1,297 consecutive regular-season games with double-digit scoring.
The run dates back to January 2007 and exceeded Michael Jordan’s mark by 431 games, with James and Jordan standing alone as the only players ever toreach 600.
With the game tied late, James had one last chance to force a shot and keep the streak alive. Instead, he swung the ball to Rui Hachimura in the corner for a buzzer-beating three that secured a 123–120 win.
Asked afterward how he felt about the streak ending, James didn’t waver. “None. We won,” he said.
