Erin Andrews is stepping in to defend Dak Prescott as the quarterback continues to face criticism following his breakup with Sarah Jane Ramos.

During a recent episode of the Calm Down podcast, Andrews and co-host Charissa Thompson responded to a listener who asked why Prescott seems to attract so much negativity despite being widely praised by teammates and coaches.

Thompson said Prescott has become an easy target because of the team he plays for, arguing that much of the criticism aimed at him has little to do with who he is as a person.

“He is a fantastic person on and off the field, he is a class act,” Thompson said. “He has been through hell and back in his personal life. He’s lost his brother, he’s lost his mom. He is a constant champion of people in the mental health space.”

Andrews, who has covered Prescott since he became the Dallas Cowboys' starting quarterback in 2016, made it clear that she has a personal admiration for him after years spent around the organization.

She joked that she is “basically Dak’s older sister” before describing him as “so lovely” and “such a solid, solid dude.” Andrews also pointed to Prescott’s charitable work, recalling a St. Jude event where he quietly made a donation without seeking attention.

Both broadcasters said they believe much of the criticism comes from the Cowboys’ status as one of the most polarizing teams in sports.

“He plays for a team that people love to hate,” Thompson said, adding that people often criticize Prescott simply because Dallas has not returned to championship form.

She also described him as “a wonderful teammate,” saying the Cowboys locker room would back that up.

The defense of Prescott arrives amid growing attention surrounding the end of his relationship with Sarah Jane Ramos. The couple had planned to marry in Lake Como on April 10, but called off the wedding roughly a month before the ceremony.

Since then, several reports have claimed Ramos confronted Prescott about alleged infidelity and gave him what was described as a monogamy ultimatum earlier this year.

Ramos has publicly rejected one rumor surrounding the split, writing online that the breakup “had nothing to do with a prenup.”

Prescott has not commented publicly on the breakup or the allegations.
