Dak Prescott is facing a new shift with the Dallas Cowboys just weeks after his highly publicized breakup with Sarah Jane Ramos, as the team loses a key piece of its offensive line heading into the 2026 season.
According to Yardbarker, veteran lineman Brock Hoffman has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in free agency, ending his run in Dallas and leaving a noticeable gap in the Cowboys’ depth up front.
Hoffman, who had become a reliable option across multiple positions, appeared in more than 50 games and stepped into starting roles when injuries hit the offensive line.
His departure comes at a time when Dallas is already looking to regroup after missing the playoffs for a second consecutive season.
The move adds another layer to an offseason that has been active both on and off the field for Prescott. While the Cowboys finished 7-9-1 under first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer, the quarterback still delivered one of the strongest individual campaigns of his career.
Prescott earned a Pro Bowl selection after completing 404 of 600 passes for 4,552 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, continuing to produce at a high level despite the team’s overall struggles.
Offensively, Dallas remained one of the league’s more productive units, supported in part by its receiving core. But protection has become a growing focus as the team looks ahead to the 2026 season.
NFL reporter Ed Werder confirmed the move on social media, writing, “Now official. Cowboys lose Brock Hoffman, who rejoins Mike McCarthy. His demeanor and play style fit the Steelers.”
While neither Prescott nor Ramos has addressed those reports publicly, both have been described as committed to co-parenting their children moving forward.
