Speculation around Chris Jericho and his next move in pro wrestling has picked up steam again, with recent chatter suggesting the veteran could be headed back to WWE sooner rather than later.

During a recent livestream, Jericho responded to a fan who mentioned his memorable 1999 WWE debut and expressed hope for a return. Jericho’s answer was brief, but telling. “Well, you never know, right? You never know!” he said.

That same ambiguity has followed Jericho for weeks. The former world champion has already confirmed he plans to step back into a wrestling ring in 2026, though he has avoided naming a specific promotion.

“I’m not done yet,” Jericho said during an appearance on The Tim Weisberg Show on WBSM 1420 AM. “Still figuring out everything, and we’ll see where I end up. But I’m pretty sure you’ll see me in 2026 in a wrestling ring somewhere.”

Jericho has been absent from All Elite Wrestling television since April, but that doesn’t mean he’s been idle. He’s continued to juggle acting projects, hosting work, and commitments with his band, Fozzy, which is set to tour the UK early next year.

Inside the wrestling world, opinions on Jericho’s future are flowing freely. Diamond Dallas Page has gone as far as publicly predicting a WWE comeback, reportedly saying he’d wager a six-figure bet on Jericho appearing at the Royal Rumble in 2026.

Matt Hardy suggested Jericho has already explored nearly every creative avenue possible in AEW, while noting that a WWE return would still feel like a major moment.

Meanwhile, AEW president Tony Khan has praised Jericho publicly but has offered no timeline—or confirmation—about when fans might see him back with the company.
