Odell Beckham Jr. Breaks Down His FRI&NDS Event Series: 'It's Not About Partying'

Speaking with Complex News, the NFL wide receiver explained the genesis behind the series and addressed criticism of NFL partying.

In an interview with Jordan Rose for Complex News, Odell Beckham Jr. broke down the genesis behind his FRI&NDS event series and addressed criticism of NFL party culture.

When asked when he got the idea to start FRI&NDS, he said that he found it "funny" that people "worded it" as a party event series. "People won’t be able to see the full-on vision as to when it starts," he said. "It’s like, right now, we’re putting on good events but that’s not the whole [thing]. It’s not about partying, you party to celebrate all of your hard work and your success."

The NFL wide receiver launched the series with a pre-Super Bowl party in New Orleans earlier this year. The series is described as a platform "rooted in culture, content, and live events founded by OBJ." OBJ explainethat the event series aims to "highlight and empower undiscovered creatives and artists through a series of interchangeable events and content."

OBJ also addressed people criticizing his decision to launch the series. "You did the same thing, you just didn't have no cameras," he joked, "You work hard and you do all that for that win on Saturday, and I’m for sure knowing that we going out with the boys like we having a good time and get ready to be a warrior again next week."
