It's no secret that LeBron James and Kyrie Irving didn't always get along when they were both playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Their relationship has been rocky at best since they parted ways last year, but in January, they reportedly sat down for a phone call to clear up their differences. Thankfully, it sounds as though they're on better terms these days, as The Athletic reports that James clarified they're in a "good place" after their chat.

"Yeah, we're in a good place right now," he explained. "Me and Kyrie are in a good place right now. I love the man that he's becoming, I love the challenges he's accepted and I always wish the best for him." It's a good thing, too, because it was reported on Wednesday (Jan. 30) that Irving is currently interested in joining his former teammate at the Los Angeles Lakers.

Last month, Irving spoke at length about how he called LeBron to smooth everything over. "It was a big deal for me because I had to call Bron and tell him like 'I apologize for being that young player that wanted everything at his fingertips,'" he said. "I wanted to be the guy who led us to championships. I wanted to be the leader. I wanted to be all that."

Irving's future at the Boston Celtics is currently uncertain, and he's done little to squash any impending trade rumors. "At the end of the day I'm going to do what's best for me and my career," he told reporters on Friday (Feb. 1). "I don't owe anyone shit."
