Jalen Brunson thinks Mikal Bridges should lose his phone privileges following his wild Instagram Live stream celebrating the New York Knicks winning the 2026 NBA championship.
During a stream on Instagram, in which he admitted he had been celebrating with some drinks, Bridges praised his Knicks teammate Brunson for helping lead the franchise to their first victory since 1973. Bridges said that he always believed that Brunson could help change the Knicks, but he couldn’t say anything about it when he was playing for the Phoenix Suns.
After catching some of the stream and the clips fans were sharing from it, Brunson joked, “Somebody take Mikal’s phone.”
During another moment from the stream, he imitated the sounds of a goat while discussing Brunson. “Build him a statue,” he said. “Build that little big-headed ass n***a a statue, bro.”
He also admitted that comments by the Las Vegas Aces head coach, Becky Hammon, about the Knicks not having a “1A dude” helped “fuel” him and his team’s performance during their incredible season.
“Don’t disrespect Becky, man, she that motherfucker for real, she a savage,” he said, as seen in the clip below. “I appreciate Becky, no cap. The words she said… All that did is fuel that n***a, bro. I don’t give a fuck what y’all say, what he say, I know him. Because he ain’t gonna tell y’all. He know what she said."
Other memorable moments of the stream included him drunkenly giving fans a tour of his house, showing off some of his framed and signed jerseys, and him getting on the floor to sing to his dog, who definitely wasn’t interested in being serenaded.
Led by Mike Brown, the Knicks secured their first NBA championship in over a century over the weekend. The franchise beat the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, and Brunson scored 45 points during the game, including 13 in a row in the fourth quarter.
