Michael Penix Jr. became the center of attention after an unfortunate typo.

On Wednesday night (August 13), CBS-affiliate WTOC in Savannah, Georgia accidentally replaced the X in his last name with an S on the chyron.

The typo occurred while the station aired footage of the 25-year-old Atlanta Falcons quarterback speaking to the media about a practice fight with the Tennessee Titans.

While the proximity of the two letters on a keyboard makes the mistake understandable, the ordeal set off a wave of reactions across social media.

Penix Jr. was involved in a scuffle at Wednesday’s practice after completing a long pass to wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud III, according to ESPN. The QB found himself in the middle of a pail and was seemingly thrown down to the grass after players from both teams ran to the sidelines.

Falcons wide receiver Drake London had to be pulled away by his teammates while McCloud and other Falcons players came to Penxi’s aid.

"I don't know where I was at in it," Penix said. "It was a lot of people. I knew I was down there somewhere. I wasn't the only one, though.

"I'm glad they did, because obviously that's not something that we want to be doing in practice. We want to get all reps in, get that good work in. But it went how it went. But to see the team have my back and they were there, make sure they protect me. A lot of guys asked me if I was good, and it was good to know that those guys had my back."
