Former Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney Really Taunted Russell Westbrook During Game 4

Mitt Romney trash-talked the 2016-17 MVP.

Who exactly are the Oklahoma City Thunder? When Sam Presti and company retooled this offseason, acquiring Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, they were unanimously considered a contender. But they have been up and down all year, always on the verge of breaking through but never quite getting there, and now their season is on the brink.

The Utah Jazz took a commanding 3-1 lead in their first-round series Monday night. During the game, which Utah won 113-96 thanks to strong second and third quarters, former presidential candidate Mitt Romney popped up. Romney, sporting a Jazz jersey, heckled Russell Westbrook, who got into early foul trouble and picked up his fourth before the half.

That's not a David Stockton jersey—Romney had his own custom 'fit. People on Twitter popped off with jokes about Romney, who is now running for U.S. Senate in Utah to succeed the retiring Orrin Hatch.

Westbrook, the 2016-17 MVP, averaged a triple-double again this season, but he has struggled in the playoffs. His team will fight for its life in Game 5 in Oklahoma City Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. ET. The game will air on NBATV.
