Dwyane Wade's future is uncertain. The star guard—one of the best shooting guards of all-time—has made it clear he wants to return to Miami, but he and the Heat have yet to agree to a new contract.
Tuesday night, one reporter apparently jumped the gun, claiming Wade and the Heat had agreed to a one-year deal—and Wade would retire when it was up.
D-Wade sent out a tweet Tuesday morning that, though vague, appeared to address the report. You be the judge.
Wade, 36, spent the first half of last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. His time in Cleveland was rocky, but he had a much better experience when he returned to South Beach for the second half of the season. He got in shape and put up 12.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. At times, he looked like vintage Flash.
He recently said he's staying in Miami and wants to play for the "Heat only."
"When the decision needs to be made, it will be made. It's different now. It's not like we're sitting down trying to figure out a $100 million contract and I need to sign it by July 8. So we have time," Wade said, according to the Miami Herald. "Heat only. If I play the game of basketball this year, it will be in a Miami uniform. If I don't, I'll be living in Miami and somewhere else, probably."
