After months of teasers on social media, designer Salehe Bembury has announced the launch of his new footwear brand, Spunge.
Coinciding with the announcement is the launch of the brand's inaugural Osmosis sneaker, which is available starting today via a draw on Bembury's website.
The Osmosis sneaker features a low-cut upper and has the Spunge logo stamped on the lateral side of the shoe. The sneaker also introduces the brand's performance cushioning in the midsole, dubbed Squish Tech, which is a proprietary foam housed within a stability cage.
"I’ve been working as a footwear designer for 15-plus years. My collective experiences as both designer and collaborator allowed me to realize I need to have full agency over my vision to achieve the ambitious goals that I’ve set for myself," Bembury said. "The only way to do that was to create my own footwear brand. Spunge is the vehicle that enables me to create on my terms, with my own unique output."
The drawing for the Spunge Osmosis sneakers is now open exclusively at Beaspunge.com for $150 each, with winners notified on Oct. 13. The global retail launch for the sneaker will take place on Nov. 15.
