As confirmed by Nike CEO John Donahoe in June during the brand's Q4 2023 earnings call, there are plenty of Vomero 5 colorways on the horizon. One of the remaining releases is this colorful pair that may have borrowed its look from a classic Japanese cartoon franchise.
Dubbed "Gundam," this Nike Vomero 5 fuses mesh panels with metallic silver overlay panels on the upper. There are also hits of blue covering the sock liner, while black Swoosh branding appears at the midfoot. The standout element is the tattered design covering the midsole.
Despite possibly being inspired by Gundam, the sneaker is not officially affiliated with the cartoon. Nike did release an official sneaker collab with Gundam in 2021 that featured two Project Unicorn-inspired colorways of the SB Dunk High.
As of now, release details for this "Gundam" Nike Vomero 5 have yet to be announced by the brand. Check back soon for official updates.
