Nike is once again releasing Puerto Rico-themed sneakers, with a new Shox R4 colorway arriving ahead of the Puerto Rican Day parade later this month.
The Swoosh confirms that the colorway for this “PR” Shox R4 references the light blue hue featured on the original Puerto Rican flag, which was created by Puerto Rican exiles in 1895 at the Chimney Corner Hall in New York City. The sneaker also has special 3D-inspired details, including on the Swoosh, the forefoot, and heel, while “PR” branding is stamped on the midsole’s Shox cushioning system.
For the campaign of the sneaker, Nike tapped Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Rauw Alejandro, who appears in several of the images below.
Readers will be able to cop the “PR” Shox R4 starting on Friday, June 5, through select Nike stockists, which are listed below.
UPDATE (06/04): In addition to releasing at select retailers tomorrow, the “PR” Nike Shox R4 is also dropping via the SNKRS app for $155.
