Back in 2016, Nike released a green-colored iteration of the Air Trainer SC High to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the star-studded 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, GA. Now that we’re at the 30-year milestone, the brand has another version of the popular colorway arriving soon.
Official product images of a new Olympics-themed Air Trainer SC High (style code: IQ5796-500) have loaded on the backend of Nike’s website. This latest version swaps out the green hue from the 2016 pair with a purple color scheme, which Nike designer Frank Cooke confirmed is a nod to vintage purple 1996 Olympics t-shirts. Much like the previous release, the Atlanta-themed peach embroidery appears on the left tongue, while the ‘96 Olympics branding covers the insoles.
At the time of writing, concrete release details for this upcoming Nike Air Trainer SC colorway have yet to be announced by the brand. Check back soon for official updates. Grab a closer look at the sneaker below.
