There are two versions of the McDonald’s x Nike Book 2 collab on the way, including one that’s hitting retail and another that’s made just for friends and family of the brands.
Despite that, McDonald’s is hosting a giveaway for its friends-and-family-exclusive Book 2. From May 22 to May 28, fans who purchase one of six new specialty drinks through the MyMcDonald’s Rewards section of the food company’s app can enter the sweepstakes for a chance to win a pair. It’s worth mentioning that fans can enter the contest daily.
The retail version of the McDonald’s x Nike Book 2 dons a sail-based upper and paired with turquoise accents, inspired by the iconic McDonald’s in Sedona, AZ, which has blue arches instead of yellow. The friends-and-family pair sports a predominantly turquoise makeup, which Ronald McDonald is wearing in the image above.
"McDonald's has been part of my story long before the league—from being a McDonald's All-American alum to giving back through Ronald McDonald House, my roots with the brand run deep," Booker said in a press release about the collab. "My sneakers have always been about honoring the places in Arizona that have shaped me over the years and the Nike Book 2 McDonald's take inspiration from a place I return to every offseason."
The retail version of the McDonald’s x Nike Book 2 releases on June 2 via SNKRS and at select retailers for $155.
