Several upcoming iterations of the Air Jordan 40 will reference previous Air Jordan styles, as evidenced by the images here.
Newly leaked images of two unreleased Air Jordan 40s show pairs inspired by the "Midnight Navy" Jordan 16 and the "Black Stealth" Jordan 23. Both versions not only adapt the sneakers' color schemes, but the "Midnight Navy"-inspired pair (style code: IR2080-100) also features the Air Jordan 16's removable shroud on the upper, while the "Black Stealth" iteration (style code: IR2081-001) is equipped with the Jordan 23's DNA-themed stitching on the sides of the upper.
Jordan Brand has yet to announce the release details for each version, despite images of the two upcoming Air Jordan 40s surfacing. As we await more official word from the brand, scroll on for a closer look at both pairs.
UPDATE (12/18): Jordan Brand has confirmed that the "Midnight Navy" Air Jordan 4016 hybrid sneaker will be released on Dec. 26 via SNKRS for $200. A firm release date for the "Black Stealth" Jordan 4023 has yet to be announced.
