There aren't many performance running sneakers that have experienced the the crossover appeal of the adidas Ultra Boost. Originally touted by adidas as the "greatest running sneaker ever," the sneaker's popularity took off over the summer after Kanye West repeatedly wore the "White" version, and now it's being embraced by 'heads who haven't actually ran a mile in years. With that in mind, it should be interesting to see how the next installment, the Ultra Boost ST, fares with the casual crowd.

Built to provide improved stability, the adidas Ultra Boost ST sees a revamped upper with a mostly unchanged Boost midsole. The most obvious updates here are the redesign of the plastic support cage at the midfoot and an updated Primeknit pattern.

Meanwhile, a segment has been added to the Boost that Running Warehouse calls "an odd looking piece of material on the medial side of the midsole to suggest the shoe has support" which is actually "more for show; the function is coming from the multi-density Boost midsole."

Like the new Ultra Boost colorways we previewed yesterday, the Ultra Boost ST is also equipped with a Continental rubber outsole for added durability, which should help to remedy one of the biggest complaints about the original sneaker.

Look out for these to arrive in December for a retail price of $180.
