Nike's latest evolution of the Air Max 97 reworks the classic gold colorway with a patchwork look. The shoe is tied to international soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, whose "CR7" logo appears on the heel.
According to Nike, Ronaldo would play soccer so much as a kid that he wore holes in his shoes. His mother would sew patches on them to fix them up, hence the look here.
The Nike Air Max 97 CR7 will release on Oct. 23 via the SNKRS app, nike.com, and select retailers in Europe.
The original gold Nike Air Max 97 made its return this year for the 20th anniversary of this silhouette, arriving back in May.
