Tiffany Haddish Says She 'Kicked the F*cking Door Open' for 'So Many People Like Me'

Haddish continues to be hilarious in her Best Supporting Actress speech at the New York Film Critics Circle award ceremony.

Tiffany Haddish was easily 2017's top breakout star with the smash hit film Girls Trip, plus that one viral story about taking Will and Jada Smith to a swamp tour in New Orleans. Now Haddish is ready to steal our hearts again with a hilarious yet touching acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actress at the New York Film Critics Circle dinner and awards ceremony.

In the nearly 20-minute acceptance speech, Haddish spoke on dealing with critics, compared herself to a Hindu goddess, and shared an outrageous monologue that got cut from Girls Trip. In the midst of it all, she also managed to throw a few flirty messages to the ceremony's host, Michael B. Jordan. Luckily the speech was caught on video and uploaded by BuzzFeed’s Alison Willmore (above).

Haddish shared that while she had ad libs she never imagined would make it into the final film, there were also a bunch of scenes she wished made it, including one where she plots an elaborate plan to get back at Ryan's cheating husband.

“There’s a scene where I’m telling Regina [Hall] all of the things I’m gonna do for her," explained Haddish in the speech. "I’ve got her back. ‘And then when he asleep, we’re gonna burn your name in his dick. Then we’re gonna put mud and salt on it so it will heal right over. And then it will be ribbed for your pleasure. And then when he woke up, we’ll look him dead in his eyes. And we’ll tell him right to his face, to keep your name out of these bitches’ mouths.’ And they took that out of the movie, but I like to tell everybody about it, because these are the things I think about at night sometimes. Don’t hurt my feelings, Michael B. Jordan.”

With fame, there will always be haters. For Haddish, she knows exactly how to deal with them.

“I know some people in here are going to talk shit about me. It’s okay," said Haddish. "You know why it’s okay? Because you care enough to say something. If you didn’t say nothing, then you didn’t care. So if you said something, thank you. I don’t care if it’s positive or negative. I appreciate you. I’m glad you see me. Cause there were so many years nobody saw me. You know when you’re a little kid going through the system, you wonder, ‘Does anyone even know I’m alive?’ And to be this example to youth. There are so many people like me that you guys have no clue about. But they coming, ’cause I kicked the fucking door open.”
