PlaqueBoyMax has deleted his community forum on X, and he’s now revealing the reason for the sudden move.
During a Twitch livestream on Friday (Saturday 12), Max became emotional as he explained that the reception to his track “Thong Song” inspired him to get rid of the community.
“I was out shopping,” he explained around the 25-minute mark. “As y’all know, ‘Thong Song’ just dropped and, you feel me, I’m not going to lie, that song is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever made. It’s fun as fuck. It makes me feel good. I put a lot of time into it.
“I’m excited, I’m feeling good,” he continued. “I deleted Twitter from my phone. Had to get Twitter back to post my shit. I hit the community, and it’s like … damn, bro. Y’all n****s not fucking with me, no cap.”
Max’s voice quivered as he spoke about the community’s “negative energy” and how he only creates for people he considers “his family.”
“The community became a thing where n****s is so toxic and small-minded, they won’t let me be myself,” Max ranted. “Y’all can call me corny, I don’t give a fuck. I come on this bitch to have fun with y’all, bro. This shit is hard, not easy. I put my heart and soul into this. That’s why I deleted that shit.”
Fan reception of Max’s “Thong Song” has been mixed, with some praising the production and others saying the song isn’t it.
The rapper may be under pressure to release music that hits: He claimed last month that “making it” as a streamer is “harder than how mentally taxing a 9-to-5 is.”
Max said as much during an interview with Justin Laboy for Respectfully.
“Streaming is very hard,” he explained. “There’s millions of people that are currently trying to stream. [A] 9-to-5 is mentally taxing on some, like, ‘Damn, I might not wanna do this today. I don’t like my co-worker.’ Shit like that. But, n***a, go try and be a fucking streamer. Try and blow up.”
