Mia Goth has been confirmed to star in the upcoming film, Star Wars: Starfighter.

Variety revealed that the actor from X and Pearl has joined the cast of the movie, but details about her role are scarce. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Goth will play a villainous role that involves pursuing a child, although it's not been confirmed.

Mikey Madison was reportedly nearing a deal to take on the role but ended up declining due to financial disagreements.

Star Wars: Starfighter was announced back in April at the Star Wars Celebration event in Tokyo. At the event, director Shawn Levy — who recently directed Deadpool & Wolverine — said the movie is "a new adventure" and features "new characters." He added: "It takes place in a new period of time after the battle of Exegol, after Episode 9."

Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming film.

What is Star Wars: Starfighter about?

Details about the film’s plot are scarce besides the fact that it is set five years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker.

Is it connected to the latest Star Wars trilogy?

No, it's not. It's about an entirely different cast of characters.

Who else stars in the movie?

The only other cast member to be revealed so far is Ryan Gosling.

When will the movie be released?

Star Wars: Starfighter is currently set to hit theaters on May 28, 2027.
