Marvel’s Wolverine finally has a release date — and it’s probably sooner than you think, in the world of videogaming.
Insomniac Games announced that the highly-anticipated title will be out on Sept. 15, 2026. Considering just a few years ago that much of it was leaked after a ransomware attack exposed its assets to the public, the fact that it’ll be out sooner than later is a win for Wolverine fans and gamers everywhere.
Though not all details about the game have been revealed to the public, which will most likely change in the months leading up to its release, here’s what you should know about it.
What is Marvel’s Wolverine about?
Details about the game are still pretty scarce, save for what’s been revealed in a PlayStation blog post about the game. According to that, a “dark past threatens to consume him.”
Who will be featured in Marvel’s Wolverine?
Aside from the obvious, Mystique and Omega Red have been revealed to be featured in the game.
Where will Marvel’s Wolverine take place?
Confirmed locations, according to a PlayStation blog post, are the “island nation of Madripoor, the frosted wilderness of Canada, and the narrow city streets of Tokyo.”
Why is everyone so excited for the game?
Insomniac Games is a well-loved developer studio that’s behind the Marvel’s Spider-Man series on PlayStation 5. Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Spider-Man 2 are all critically acclaimed games that make great use of Spider-Man characters to tell unforgettable stories. Being that they’re already doing great with Spider-Man, the belief is that they’ll give Wolverine the treatment he deserves.
What platform will Marvel’s Wolverine be available on?
It will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
