Kim Kardashian’s attempt to buy her dad’s Bible from the O.J. Simpson estate has reportedly been turned down.
TMZ reports that Malcolm LaVergne, the executor of Simpson’s estate, revealed that Kardashian’s team reached out to him in February after learning that the late football star’s personal items were going up for auction.
Kardashian’s team was interested in a Bible that her late father, Robert, gifted to Simpson. She offered $15,000 for the Bible and also inquired about other objects that belonged to Robert. In the end, however, the estate turned down the offer.
LaVergene revealed that the reason the estate declined was because the Bible was already under contract and court order to be sold off to pay Simpson’s debt (in regards to the civil suit judgment that Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman’s families won that declared Simpson liable for their deaths).
If Kardashian's team wants it, LaVergne said they’ll be able to bid on it in the auction that opened on March 11 and will end on March 20.
Simpson’s auction has 103 items listed on its website. There’s football memorabilia like his personal footballs, others that he signed, as well as cards. There’s also the Vince Lombardi Award Trophy for Rushing Record that he won in 1974 for the real collectors to bid on.
In addition to football stuff, photographs that he owned and appeared in will be up for bidding — including a signed picture with former President Bill Clinton. His 1983 California driver’s license will also be available.
All of Simpson’s gear isn’t drastically overpriced, either. According to Black Enterprise, there are items up for grabs that are as little as $50.
