Jennifer Lawrence thinks that Quentin Tarantino may well have stopped considering her to star in a film after seeing comments suggesting that she wasn’t attractive enough for the role of 1960s actress Sharon Tate.

During an episode of Happy Sad Confused with Josh Horowitz, Lawrence opened up about the directors that she’d love to work with — specifically mentioning Christopher Nolan and Paul Thomas Anderson. After the host suggested that Tarantino had wanted to work with her in the past, Lawrence responded with, “I don’t know about that.”

“He did [consider me], and then everybody was like, 'She’s not pretty enough to play Sharon Tate,'” Lawrence continued, referencing Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (Tate was played by Margot Robbie). "I'm pretty sure that happened."

“Or, he was never considering me for the part, and the internet just went out of its way to call me ugly,” she continued with a laugh.

Lawrence did admit that she was offered a role in a Tarantino film — specifically to play Daisy in The Hateful Eight. But ultimately she didn’t take it.

“I turned it down,” she said. “I should not have done (that).”

Elsewhere in the interview, Lawrence opened up about her friendly but competitive relationship with Emma Stone.

“We went up for everything,” Lawrence said, joking that that she’d gotten jealous when Stone recently got nominated for an Actor Award for Bugonia, while her own performance in Die My Love went unacknowledged.

"We're on a group chat, and she got nominated...today and I did not," Lawrence said, laughing. "And all of our friends were like, 'Congratulations, Emma,' and then I would just do a sad face emoji."

Lawrence then spilled the beans about a movie that she wanted to act in that Stone received the part for instead.

“The one that I wanted that she got was Easy A,” said Lawrence. “I was nuts for Easy A. It would have been great.”
