New marketing emails from Sony have gamers everywhere believing that news about Grand Theft Auto 6 will be coming very soon.
Rumors about an upcoming announcement began last week when fans started sharing messages they’d received from Sony suggesting that they upgrade from a PlayStation 4 to a PlayStation 5.
"Grant Theft Auto 6 is on your wishlist," said the email. "Get a PlayStation 5 today to be ready for when Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on November 19, 2026."
Gamers believe this is confirmation that more information about GTA VI could be coming out soon as the message came from Sony, which has a marketing deal with the game’s developer, Rockstar Games.
The mention of the Nov. 19 release date seems like the studio is clarifying that there won’t be any further delays. It was previously supposed to debut on May 26.
Fans also noted that Sony removed the “Just Announced” tag from GTA VI on its PlayStation store, which many believe to be a sign that the game will soon be available for preorder.
Per Rockstar Games’ publishing company, Take Two, marketing for GTA VI is set to kick off this summer ahead of the fall release.
In February, Take Two confirmed the Nov. 19 release date during an earnings results call, saying in a statement to IGN, "Our execution throughout Fiscal 2026 has been extraordinary and we are highly confident as we approach Fiscal 2027—which promises to be groundbreaking for Take-Two and the entire entertainment industry—led by the Nov. 19 release of Grand Theft Auto VI with Rockstar’s launch marketing set to begin this Summer. "
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick also expressed his confidence in the release date to IGN, saying, "I feel good about it. Very good about it."
The last trailer for GTA VI came out May 6 of last year.
