Charlamagne Tha God revealed that he has cheated on his wife of 27 years—but that it's been nearly a decade since the last time he did so.

The 47-year-old radio host sat down with DJ Vlad for a conversation about honesty and transparency in relationships. During the discussion, Charlamagne stated the importance of truthfulness in building the foundation of a relationship.

“Faithful Black men don’t cheat,” said Charlamagne around the one hour, 45-minute mark of the video below. "October of 2016 was the last time I ever played around.”

The Breakfast Club host has been married to Jessica Gadsden, 43, since 2014. The pair knew each other in high school, and they now have four daughters.

“If you lay down every night with a woman and you say this is your best friend, I’m the type of person where I need all of my energy claimed,” Charlamagne continued.

“I’m willing to deal with whatever comes from being 100%, completely honest—especially if I know which direction I’m taking my life. I want things to be clean, I want things to be pure, I want my energy right.”

On Charlamagne’s professional side, his publishing company Black Privilege Publishing will be releasing 2 Chainz’s first book, The Voice in Your Head Is God, next March.

The rapper announced his “spiritual memoir” on Instagram, revealing the title and theme.

“It is my most personal and introspective work to date," he said. "I talk about how the voice in my head I hear every day, all day, led me to the point where I'm right now, and that's in front of you guys. It is motivational, it's powerful, and it's raw. I know you're going to love it.”

Charlamagne also released a statement about 2 Chainz’s upcoming memoir.

"2 Chainz’s story is a story of perseverance,” the radio host said. “A story of reinvention. This book will remind you that when GOD tells you to do something, it must be done, even if you have to reinvent yourself a few times to do it."
