Brad Pitt’s Los Angeles home which was broken into earlier this summer has reportedly been sold.

TMZ reports that the sale of Pitt’s 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom Los Feliz property known as “The Steel House” is currently in escrow in an off-market deal — and was already in motion before the burglary.

Pitt purchased The Steel House for $5.5 million from activist and heiress Aileen Getty. Getty had previously bought the home in 2019 from Maroon 5’s James Valentine.

In June, Pitt’s home was burglarized when he wasn’t there. So far, four suspects have been arrested in connection with the crime. “Three suspects broke into the residence and fled with unknown property, and then later on, we later determined there were four suspects who were taken into custody,” revealed the Los Angeles Police Department to SFGATE in a statement.

What happened to Pitt’s home is just one in a string of high-profile Los Angeles burglaries that have been linked to what’s been described as South American theft groups that take part in "burglary tourism.”

Within the last year, similar incidents have happened to Nicole Kidman, Anthony Anderson, NFL quarterback Matthew Stafford and MLB pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

In a statement released in February, the FBI announced its intent on catching the groups of people that have been linked to these kinds of crimes.

"The FBI has spearheaded an initiative targeting South American Theft Groups by combining our nationwide resources and collaborating with our valued law enforcement partners to link commonalities and suspects of cases across the country," reads the statement. "While some victims of these brazen crimes happen to be professional athletes with careers in the spotlight, rest assured: the FBI is dedicated to protecting all Americans from violent crime—no matter their job description or zip code."

Pitt recently purchased a $12 million Los Angeles home from The Killers' guitarist, Dave Keuning.
