Banks has admitted to calling PlaqueBoyMax the N-word amidst his explanation about why a number of members have left FaZE Clan.

The group's former leader released a video on Friday (December 26) detailing the claim that PlaqueBoyMax’s cousin, Fatboydip, made about why the streamer left the videogame group. In it, Banks claimed he said it because of an "emotional response."

"First of all, I didn’t say this targeted towards you," Banks said. "This wasn’t said in any sort of racist connotation. I said this in an all emotional response. I said fuck y’all n***as."

"It’s a fucking mistake and I am fucking retarded," Banks continued. "I am a 34-year-old man child and I have many, many flaws and I am an idiot for saying that."

Adin Ross quickly came to Banks' support during a stream, saying: "There’s nothing wrong with saying that if you're saying it in a non-racist way with your friends, not on stream."

Fatboydip originally claimed in a livestream that Max told him Banks used the word. "When Max left, I called him like, 'Yo bro, why are you leaving?'" said Fatboydip. "He came up with a reason, he was like, 'The last reason for real was that [Banks] called me a n***a.'"

Banks addressing the situation came right on the heels of FaZe Clan members Stable Ronaldo, JasonTheWeen, Silky, Lacy and Adapt announcing that they’d left the organization. Max later responded to the members leaving during a livestream, claiming that the group’s members had "no control" and were treated like "puppets."

Max left FaZe Clan in August; Banks also departed the group that same month. In a recent post after the exodus of members, he wrote: "I have nothing to do with what’s going at FaZe Clan right now. I left 4 months ago and have moved on with my life. Unfortunate to see, wishing everyone involved the best. If there’s anything I can do to help, I’m here. Nobody loves FaZe more than me."

Banks later responded to Max’s comments, saying: "I just watched some clips from this PlaqueBoyMax stream where he’s playing a laugh track over my tweet, and it’s like, Max, I know we’ve had our individual differences, and I know I really haven’t seen eye-to-eye with a lot of the talent. Because truthfully and honestly, I find you guys all to be incredibly ungrateful."

He continued: "I find you guys all to have insane egos, and I think it’s disgusting and makes me sick to my stomach that your guys' relationships with each other, with every other streamer, and your community, included, is so incredibly fake. You guys are the best actors on planet earth, and you’ve made a complete career out of all of it."
