Former FaZe Clan CEO Banks Calls PlaqueBoyMax ‘Fake,’ Denies Role in Mass Departure

Max said he and the other streamers were treated like "puppets" in the organization.

FaZe Clan went through some changes on Christmas.

On Thursday (Dec. 25), members Stable Ronaldo, JasonTheWeen, Silky, Lacy and Adapt tweeted, “Left @FaZeClan,” signaling their sudden exit from the organization.

PlaqueBoyMax later responded to their departure during a stream, in which he made his own claims regarding FaZe. The streamer and rapper left the organization this past August. Among Max’s allegations was that members had “no control” and were treated like “puppets.”

Max also pulled up former FaZe CEO Banks’ tweet about having no involvement in the members’ departure and played a laugh track. Banks stepped down from his role in July.

“I have nothing to do with what’s going at FaZe Clan right now. I left 4 months ago and have moved on with my life. Unfortunate to see, wishing everyone involved the best,” Banks tweeted. “If there’s anything I can do to help, I’m here. Nobody loves FaZe more than me.”

Banks addressed FaZe’s mass exit on X, in which he also responded to Max’s comments.

“I just watched some clips from this PlaqueBoyMax stream where he’s playing a laugh track over my tweet,” Banks said, “and it’s like, Max, I know we’ve had our individual differences, and I know I really haven’t seen eye-to-eye with a lot of the talent. Because truthfully and honestly, I find you guys all to be incredibly ungrateful.

“I find you guys all to have insane egos, and I think it’s disgusting and makes me sick to my stomach that your guys’ relationships with each other, with every other streamer, and your community, included, is so incredibly fake. You guys are the best actors on planet earth, and you’ve made a complete career out of all of it.”

Elsewhere, Banks responded to Max calling the streamers who departed FaZe his “boys.”

“Max, these are your boys, but these are the same guys that said they fucking hated your guts after you left,” Banks said. “A fucking entire hate mob is coming after me on fucking Christmas, my first Christmas without my mom, when all I’ve ever fucking wanted to do is help FaZe be successful.”

Banks—who co-founded FaZe in 2010—said he’s become the scapegoat for the mass departure and that he’s been deemed the “guy who’s trying to take everything from everybody,” when he’s actually “millions of dollars in debt” due to FaZe.

“I wish this never happened. I wish that I never did any of this. And they’ll all still tell you this was the best decision they ever made in their life,” he said of the members.

In another tweet, Banks wrote, “Their money and platforms all sky-rocketed after meeting me, but I’m the bad guy? None of it makes sense.”

At this point, it’s unclear why Stable Ronaldo, JasonTheWeen, Silky, Lacy, and Adapt left FaZe. Banks stepped down as CEO in late July, following accusations that he scammed fans through a failed cryptocurrency venture with Adin Ross.

Days later, in August, Max confirmed his own departure, saying that being part of FaZe was “one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life,” adding that it “changed my life.”
