Angel Reese has already conquered basketball and modeling. Now, she’s got her sights set on acting.
Following her feature film debut in House of Dynamite, Reese revealed her plans to take acting seriously in an interview with People.
“I want to get an acting coach,” said Reese at the New York Film Festival premiere of the film. “I was talking to Common — he's overseas right now shooting season 2 of Silo — and he was telling me, 'You got to hire an acting coach.' "
“So I'm going to hire an acting coach,” she continued. “I model already, so it's like adding to the resume. I'm young right now, so I'm going to do it while I'm young.”
Reese also revealed what it was like to act in House of Dynamite alongside Idris Elba and others.
“I was really nervous,” Reese admitted. “But I had some great people on the cast that made me feel really comfortable. The girls there [including Rebecca Ferguson, Greta Lee, and Kaitlyn Dever] made me feel comfortable.”
Reese has made it clear that she’s doing what she wants to do with her career, regardless of what anyone thinks, in part because of issues with her current salary. On X, she put the WNBA on blast when asked to pick if she wanted to be a model or WNBA player.
“I’ll never pick because my dream job doesn’t pay me enough, while my side job pays me 7 figures,” she wrote.
In a recent episode of her Unapologetically Angel podcast, Reese addressed haters who don’t believe she takes basketball seriously because she’s famous for being attractive.
"Just because I’m fine, does not mean I don’t take basketball seriously," said Reese. "Like, this whole gag, let’s give it up."
"I’m sorry, you gotta talk to my mom," she added, giving her haters the person who’s responsible for her good looks. "Being fine, I have to — that’s my thing. But I also hoop."
Reese added an explanation of the busy schedule that allows her to multi-task.
"I got up this morning and worked out, and then got my makeup done," she explained. "I maximize my 24 hours so I am very sorry, actually I’m not sorry, but I’m sorry for those who feel some type of way that they can’t be fine and play basketball."
