UPDATED 3/4, 7:39 a.m. ET: A rep for the Santa Monica Police Department has now issued a statement confirming that the department is “reviewing” footage of this weekend’s incident.

When reached for comment by Complex, a police rep said that officers responded to the scene Sunday night, at which point a search was carried out.

“On the evening of March 2, 2025, officers responded to a report of an individual making threatening statements toward a group of people at the Santa Monica Pier,” the rep told Complex in an email. “Officers contacted those involved, assisted them with an escort to help ensure their safety, and conducted an area search for the individual. The suspect was not located at the time. We are aware of video footage circulating online related to the incident and are reviewing the information that has been shared publicly.”

Valkyrae and Cinna have both shared statements after cutting an IRL stream short due to threats from an unidentified individual.

In footage from the moment in question, which occurred at Santa Monica Pier with Emiru during Valkyrae and Cinna’s Sis-A-Thon subathon event, the individual is first seen talking with the streamers about a song he wants to sing them. After he then transitions into trying to demand the stars' phone numbers, he’s heard saying that he will continue to “follow” them for the rest of the evening.

At this point, the group walks away, initially deciding to wait in line to buy churros before leaving the area. The camera pans to show the individual waiting for them nearby, with the situation rapidly escalating from there. Eventually, the individual is seen returning to frame, saying several times “I’ll kill you right now.”

Security is urged to intervene, with the group ultimately leaving the Santa Monica Pier area as the stream cuts off.

“We are all ok and have been with police,” Valkyrae told fans in an update shared to X on Sunday night. “We decided we are done with the marathon and need time to process! Thank you for all the love and support this past week. We had so much fun and hope you all enjoyed.”

In a follow-up, Valkyrae also urged fans to “please send love” to Emiru, Cinna, Rosii, and Emily.

“Everybody is in shock,” Valkyrae said.

“We are safe,” Cinna said, also on X. “Unfortunately we have to end the marathon and need time to process what happened as we are shocked at the moment. Thank you for al the love and support on the marathon. We love you all.”

As Cinna explained in a follow-up, then elaborated on further in a separate update shared to Instagram, Rosii and Emily were imperative in helping to navigate the situation and keep everyone safe.

“I am very thankful to those two for what they did tonight to help us,” Cinna added, calling them “two amazing humans who are not security but stood up like it to protect us.”

At this time, additional info on the incident, including what ultimately came of police getting involved, is not known. Complex has reached out to local police for comment. This story may be updated.
