When Tracy Morgan received an emotional standing ovation during Sunday's Emmys broadcast, the message was clear: his presence on TV and film would surely be missed. Just days after that touching tribute, Morgan has officially signed on for the forthcoming comedy Fist Fight, marking his first movie role since the tragic 2014 traffic accident that left fellow comedian Jimmy Mack dead after a Walmarttruck driver crashed into the back of their vehicle on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Morgan joins previously announced stars Ice Cube and Charlie Day, providing an undeniably stacked cast for the Richie Keen-helmed comedy. According to Variety, the film centers on two high school teachers (Cube and Day) who work in "a broken-down school system" and somehow end up in at least one fist fight with each other. Morgan joins the cast as a coach, though his level of participation in the actual fist fights remains unconfirmed.

Production on Fist Fight is expected to begin later this month in Atlanta, Georgia. On October 17, Tracy Morgan will make his triumphant return to Saturday Night Live when he steps into the role of graciously hilarious host and hopefully (please, Tracy!) gives us some Brian Fellows action:
