In addition to gracefully losing a "shitty" tattoo bet with Leonardo DiCaprio, Oscar-nominated actor Tom Hardy is apparently quite skilled at catching would-be motorcycle thieves. Hardy reportedly helped apprehend one of two 16-year-olds who had allegedly stolen a bike in London Sunday afternoon, BBC Newsreported.

Hardy reportedly got involved with the incident when the two teens "crashed into a car in Richmond," at which point the suspects attempted to flee on foot. "Officers were not pursuing the motorcycle, but happened to be present at the location at the time of the collision," a statement from local police said Tuesday. "Two 16-year-old boys immediately made off from the scene." Hardy, apparently, also happened to be nearby.

Richmond authorities providedBBC News with a separate statement, seemingly crediting Hardy with single-handedly detaining one of the alleged bike thieves. A follow-up statement to Entertainment Weekly, however, clarified that it's not accurate to say that "any one individual" detained the suspect alone. "The arresting officer has confirmed that a number of members of the public assisted police at the scene," police said Tuesday. Both teens were arrested on suspicion of multiple motoring offenses.

When he's not busy helping allegedly stolen motorcycles find their way home, Hardy can be seen on the BBC One and FX series Taboo. This summer, Hardy leads Christopher Nolan's highly anticipated World War II film Dunkirk. The 65mm production, written by Hardy's Dark Knight Rises collaborator Nolan, also stars Mark Rylance, Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh, James D'Arcy, and Harry Styles.
