Sure, putting it all on the line as a star player in the NBA Finals is one thing, but what about the physical toll endured by those in the stands?

This was on the mind of Timothée Chalamet this week—jokingly, at least—as his beloved New York Knicks stepped into their first NBA Finals in nearly three decades. As previously reported, the Mike Brown-led team came out on top in Game 1, with their Spurs showdown set to continue on Friday (June 5) with another away game.

“[People] underestimate the wear and tear on the body of a fan throughout the playoffs,” Chalamet, who also shared photos to Instagram seemingly showing him icing his knees, wrote in a Stories update on Thursday evening (June 4). “Self-care is important.”

Chalamet was among the familiar faces seen in the crowd during Game 1, where the Spurs, despite a strong showing earlier into the night, ultimately lost to the Knicks with a final score of 105-95. The Oscar-nominated Marty Supreme actor, next set to be seen in the third Dune film this December, has been a fixture at Knicks games as of late, with his fandom stretching back to childhood.

With a Game 1 win in their pocket, all eyes are on where the Knicks will go from here. Whether they can take it all the way remains anyone’s guess for now, but the gravity of the moment, win or lose, hasn’t been lost on fans. In recent weeks, it’s been continuously pointed out just how different the world looked the last time the Knicks had a chip within arm’s reach.
