Seth Rogen Broke Both of His 'High Times' Stoner of the Year Trophies by 'Smoking From Them'

Before The Studio bagged four trophies at the 2025 Primetime Emmys, co-creator and star Seth Rogen had already achieved awards glory, twice, thanks to a different institution: High Times magazine.

During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in support of his role in Aziz Ansari’s Good Fortune, in theaters Oct. 17, the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series winner first joked about the perceived prestige level of the Emmys.

When Kimmel highlighted a key moment from Rogen’s acceptance speech, namely his claim that a bowling trophy he once purchased at an estate sale as a kid was his only pre-Emmys trophy, the Platonic and Pam & Tommy actor offered a correction.

“I was actually thinking, and it’s funny that these were the ones I forgot, I have won two other awards,” Rogen said, as seen above. “I was in 2007, 2008 back-to-back winner of the High Times Stoner of the Year. Thank you. What’s sad, though, is that the award itself is a bong mounted on a little pedestal and I broke both of them.”

The breaking process, Rogen added, can be attributed to one thing: “Smoking from them.”

For those curious about where things stand with The Studio’s second season, Rogen tucked in a production update during his Kimmel conversation. Per Rogen, writing for the follow-up to the acclaimed Apple TV+ comedy’s inaugural run is currently underway, with shooting slated to begin at the top of 2026.

All told, the show took home the following at last month’s Primetime Emmys ceremony: Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.

When factoring in this year’s Primetime Creative Arts Emmys, the show's total number of wins comes in at a whopping 13.
