Ninja says he makes a point to "never" be alone in a room with a woman.
During a recent livestream, the 33-year-old Twitch star and pro gamer took a moment to address fans after receiving a number of questions about "the MrBeast situation." To be clear, this is a reference not to MrBeast himself but to misconduct allegations made against Ava "Kris" Tyson, a longtime friend and former channel contributor.
"It’s fucking simple. … Talking to fucking anyone underage, hello? It’s not difficult," Ninja said on Tuesday. "Don’t condone it. Just don’t fucking do it. What fucking year is it? How hard is it? Holy shit, man. Just, I don’t know what to tell you."
Ninja said his stance on DMs, for example, is a strict one. If he doesn’t know the person, he’s not talking with him. And according to him, "it’s really not hard to be faithful," a summation he followed with some swift headlined specificity.
"I go out of my way to mark sure that I am never even alone in another room with a woman, ever," Ninja said. "Even like my PR person. It doesn’t matter who it is. I don’t care if they work for me or whatever, bro. There is someone else in that room at all times. If we’re alone, I leave instantly. That’s on, like, fidelity, right? As for anything else, dude, I don’t DM anyone. I DM my boys. I DM, like, guys in the community. There’s no private messages going on with any girls."
From there, Ninja joked that he’s "pushing 40" and is thus "not in the business of" even trying to make new friends who happen to be women. Notably, Tyler "Ninja" Blevins married his wife, Jessica Blevins, in 2017. Last year, the two celebrated their 10th anniversary as a couple.
"Clickbait’s gonna go crazy right now," Ninja said at one point in Tuesday's stream, acknowledging the indeed imminent spread of his remarks, both with and without context.
As for "the MrBeast situation," both Beast and Tyson have since shared statements confirming their creative relationship has been brought to a close. In her statement earlier this week, Tyson said she "never groomed anyone" and pointed to supportive comments she's gotten from the person alleged to be the victim.
"I would like to apologize for any of my past behavior or comments if it hurt or offended anyone. It was not my intent," Tyson, who said her behavior didn't go "beyond bad edgy jokes," wrote on Tuesday. "Seeing recent events we’ve mutually decided it’s best I permanently step away from all things MrBeast and social media to focus on my family and mental health."
MrBeast, meanwhile, has announced an independent investigation.
