Mariska Hargitay Says She Made 10-Block Sprint From Broadway Show to Game 4 to Cheer on Knicks

The sprint was worth it, of course, as Hargitay got to witness history firsthand.

Mariska Hargitay, seen courtside at Game 4 cheering on the Knicks alongside Taylor Swift and two-thirds of Haim, says she “sprinted” from the Hudson Theatre to Madison Square Garden to catch what was ultimately a history-making victory for the team.

In a statement shared with the Hollywood Reporter on Thursday (June 11), the actress, currently starring in the Broadway show Every Brilliant Thing, revealed that she was able to chop “four minutes” from the previous evening’s show. Still, making it to the Garden in time required a 10-block sprint made possible, at least in part, by her decision to rock a pair of gifted Jalen Brunson Kobe 5 Protros.

“But I’m not gonna lie, the 10-block sprint after a two-show day was no joke,” the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star told THR, noting the game ended up rising to the distinction of potentially “the greatest night” of her life.

“The game was so brutal, down 29 at the half, but I’m telling you, to watch this team fight and claw their way back — to see that look in Jalen’s eyes — there are just endless life lessons in there,” Hargitay added.

Hargitay isn’t alone in having witnessed history on Wednesday night. The game, for NBA superfans and casuals alike, became a decidedly electric display of once-in-a-lifetime prowess on the court in its final minutes. Despite a start that had Knicks fans at the Garden and those watching from home biting their nails, the team persevered, handing the Spurs a catastrophic loss with a final score of 107-106.

The saga continues, perhaps reaching its conclusion, this Saturday in San Antonio.
