Kai Cenat says he and his team are working on "owning the idea of" Streamer University.

In a clip making the rounds from a recent stream, as seen below, Cenat explained that while certain steps have already been taken, he’s aiming to go further due to others attempting to “redo it” for their own fans. For now, it’s not clear what action, exactly, the Complex-ranked most powerful streamer in hip-hop is angling to take moving forward.

"For Streamer University, the idea was so big that I had to take legal action into owning the idea, owning the name, and making it mine because it was influencing a lot of people to just redo it, redo it, redo it," Cenat said this week. "But we had to secure it and we gotta make this shit special. Streamer University, have full ownership. The name itself, have full ownership."

Elaborating a bit more on his "idea" ownership ambitions, Cenat asserted that his team is getting closer to that goal

"The idea of gathering a bunch of students, the idea of having people on the campus, and having them learn, we’re actually cracking down to the legitimacy of getting it," he said.

Kai launched Streamer University, which is not a formally accredited program, in May. At the time, he described the endeavor as "a school where chaos is encouraged and content is king." In a recent stream, he spoke candidly about his hesitance in partnering with Netflix or Prime or another platform of that size for the program. According to Kai, it was important to keep the idea “where it’s at” instead of embarking on a partnership.
