The trademark "war" that was reportedly brewing between the Kardashian legal team and Blac Chyna has been called off before it really even started. The Kardashian sisters have reached out to Chyna and Kris Jenner is now doing "damage control," TMZreported Friday. The trademark itself, centered on a request to lock down the Angela Renee Kardashian name for entertainment purposes, has reportedly still not been approved.
Though initial reports claimed the Kardashian legal team said that approving the trademark would cause them to "suffer damage including irreparable injury to their reputation and goodwill," the sisters were not singling Chyna out. Sources toldTMZ Friday that Kim, Khloé, and Kourtney assured Chyna that the mix-up occurred when their attorneys followed standard protocol regarding trademark applications.
As reported earlier this week, Chyna is hoping to secure the trademark for use across social media and for various entertainment-related purposes. Documents obtained byTMZ Wednesday claimed attorneys felt "Chyna is 'deliberately seeking to profit from the goodwill and popularity'" of the Kardashian name and brand.
With the Kardashians and Chyna calling off any alleged beef or full-on "war," hopefully we can now get to work on getting hyped AF for their next big collab: a (rumored!) sequel to this month's Rob & Chyna baby special, i.e. a wedding special.
In the meantime, peep that baby special on E! (where the hell else?) when it premieres Dec. 18.
