Talamasca: The Secret Order is officially being canceled after just six episodes on AMC. The series, which is a part of author Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe, was met with low ratings from critics and fans alike.

The supernatural show premiered on October 26, 2025, and received a 61% score on Rotten Tomatoes, along with a 67% from audiences. Although the series will not be picked up again for a second season, some characters and world-building elements from Talamasca will be featured in other TV shows within Rice’s Immortal Universe.

“While we are not proceeding with another season of Talamasca: The Secret Order, we are proud of the series and grateful for the efforts of everyone involved,” a spokesperson for AMC told Variety on March 27. “The Talamasca has a storied place within the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and we expect to see at least some of these characters, and the organization itself, in future expressions of the franchise.”

How Are Fans Reacting to the AMC Show’s Cancellation?

Audiences who tuned in to Talamasca: The Secret Order are expressing their thoughts on the show’s recent cancellation news. While some fans believe the series deserves another chance, others think booting it off the network was the right decision.

“I’m not surprised, are they?” One commenter wrote in the r/Interviewwithavampire subreddit, in response to the abrupt cancellation.

“I love Elizabeth McGovern, but also, not surprising,” added another. “It was not a good idea to begin with.”

“I mean, it was not all that great…” said a commenter.

Yet another fan expressed disappointment with the series meeting its end, saying, “Damn that blows. I liked it! I could see it pick up more and have more vampires. Wish we got more of Jasper.”
