Beloved actress Lindsay Lohan made the move from Hollywood to Dubai in 2014, and doesn't anticipate returning to life in the U.S. anytime soon. During a recent appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, Lohan, 39, explained why she prefers life in the Middle East.
"It's far away from Hollywood. And I live a very normal life. There's no worry of like, I can't go eat at this place because someone's gonna take a picture of my son. It's just... I feel very safe," said the Parent Trap star when speaking with Kelly Ripa.
"They don't have photographers there?" Ripa asked. "No, it’s not legal. You can’t take a picture of someone else if you’re in a restaurant. You have to ask the person, which is a big difference from here," explained Lohan.
Fans and viewers were quick to applaud Lohan for finding a place where she can enjoy a more peaceful, private life.
"Alcohol is also illegal there. She literally is so smart because she went to a place that can help her heal and be 'normal.'" said one person.
One comment with almost 250,000 likes said, "She healed because she left America. It makes sense now."
"This is the best celebrity recovery I’ve ever seen. She’s doing amazing," someone else added.
Lohan, who welcomed a son in 2023 with her financier husband Bader Shammas, has slowly been stepping back into the spotlight. Once known as one of Hollywood’s most relentlessly scrutinized stars, the actress is now enjoying a comeback with the upcoming film Freakier Friday.
A sequel to the 2003 Disney classic Freaky Friday, Freakier Friday reunites Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, who reprise their roles as Anna and Tess Coleman. The film is set to hit theaters on August 8, 2025.
