Russell Simmons is publicly pushing back after his ex Kimora Lee Simmons said she does not have a relationship with the fathers of her children, igniting a fresh round of tension between the former couple.

The Def Jam co-founder responded on social media after a People interview featuring Kimora began circulating. In the piece, the fashion mogul spoke candidly about her personal life and co-parenting experiences, claiming she does not maintain relationships with her children’s fathers and adding that “guys are weird.”

Simmons took issue with the remarks and shared a lengthy response, disputing Kimora’s characterization of their history. In his Threads post, Simmons alleged that he financially supported Kimora with $50,000 a month for two decades and described himself as her “best and only friend” during that time. He also claimed to be the godfather to three of her other children.

According to Simmons, their relationship deteriorated after he accused Kimora of taking stock he says belonged to him, a dispute he claims has left him fighting for access to his children and financial stability. He further alleged that he was threatened with losing contact with his kids if he pursued legal action, concluding his post by stating, “There are two sides to every story.”

Kimora has not publicly responded to Simmons’ latest claims. The former couple, who married in 1998 and divorced in 2009, share two daughters together and have long had a complicated public history marked by legal disputes and conflicting narratives about their relationship and family dynamics.
