DeenTheGreat has been bailed out by Adrien Broner, TMZ reports. Video posted by the outlet shows the influencer boxer hugging Celina Powell after he’s freed, before being joined by Broner himself.
Per TMZ, Broner paid $2500 for his fellow boxer’s release.
DeenTheGreat was arrested in Miami-Dade County on an attempted robbery charge stemming from an alleged altercation involving a woman and a phone dispute aboard a yacht.
According to jail records, DeenTheGreat, whose real name is Nurideen Shabazz, was booked on Wednesday morning at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami. Records listed the charge as felony robbery/strongarm/attempt.
TMZ reported the incident began after a woman identified as Destiny Aleman told police that Deen became upset while they were on a yacht because other men were allegedly speaking to her despite him telling her not to entertain them. According to the police report, Aleman claimed the situation escalated after she exited the yacht and attempted to record the interaction on her phone.
Investigators say Deen allegedly grabbed her forearm and attempted to take the device, leaving a minor scratch on her arm during the confrontation. Police also claim surveillance footage from the yacht owner’s Ring camera captured portions of the altercation.
According to authorities, the video allegedly showed Deen yelling for someone to grab the woman’s phone and stop her from recording before allegedly making physical contact with her multiple times while trying to take the device. Police say the footage appeared to show the woman falling to the ground while attempting to hold onto her phone before eventually getting away.
As of Thursday, neither Deen nor his legal team had issued a public statement regarding the allegations.
