DDG has officially parted ways with his cameraman Ed, and the moment unfolded live in front of thousands of viewers.

What started as a casual stream quickly shifted when the rapper let go of Ed, explaining that chronic lateness and ongoing confusion behind the scenes had finally pushed things too far. According to DDG, Ed was already streaming when DDG called and told him to pull up by 5:30 p.m. Instead, Ed arrived at 5:47, something DDG said has become a pattern.

“I fired Ed. I told him be here at 5:30… it’s 5:47. He just got here,” he told viewers. “He’s been late too many times.”

DDG said the issue wasn’t just Ed showing up late, it was also how Ed’s own livestreams were affecting him. He explained that some of Ed’s on-stream comments were throwing him off and that certain things he saw Ed do on stream had him genuinely confused.

“His work ethic slowing down,” DDG said, adding that he’s trying to move more efficiently and take his content to the next level as he aims for Streamer of the Year in 2026. DDG then broke down the timeline of their on-and-off working relationship.

The two originally worked together before they “got into it,” leading DDG to fire him the first time. That’s when DDG hired another cameraman, Johnny. Eventually, Johnny was let go, and by chance, DDG ran into Ed again at a Best Buy, giving him another shot. But this latest stretch didn’t last. DDG told Ed directly that punctuality mattered, especially for IRL content where everything depends on timing.

“If you’re not here, you slowing me down,” DDG said. “At the end of the day, it’s a job.”

When DDG officially let him go, Ed asked for another chance, but DDG said he’d already given many. After hearing the decision, Ed left the room and shouted “Fuck.”

Immediately after firing Ed, DDG called Johnny asking if he could come in. Johnny said he could arrive within 30 minutes, and DDG told viewers a new team setup would begin “real soon.”
